Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I cannot feel my heartbeat, usually I feel my heart beating but now it s like quite difficult to feel it. Plus lately I ve been receiving slight pains in my left arm but not major pain, I feel like I strain my muscle, I try to stretch and it kinda bothers me should I be aware for what s happening to me right now?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Regarding your concern, I would explain that the fact that you do not feel your heartbeat could be related to low heart rate.
Anyway, I would recommend checking your pulse and examine the frequency of your heart rate and check if it is regular.
If your heart rate is within the normal ranges and it is regular, there is nothing to worry about.
Anyway, considering the fact that you have had slight pain in your arm, I would recommend consulting with your GP for a physical check up and some tests:
- a resting ECG
- blood electrolytes
- complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation
- an exercise cardiac stress test.
Hope to have been helpful!
Kind regards.
