Is Lack Of Sleep And Lack Of Concentration Signs Of Schizophrenia?
Hi, My younger brother is 25 year old,He had been addicted with cannabis for around 3 yrs,During 2012 September he was diagnosed with psychological disorder like visual hallucination, hearing, getting afraid of something or having thought like somebody is following him,we consulted the doctor and doctor diagnosed him with cannabis induced psychosis. He was given Olimelt 10 mg and Parkin tablets which he continued for 3 to 4 months after that he was completely normal and stopped doses. After almost one year he is not getting sleep and telling like various thoughts are coming to his mind which is keeping him tensed and so not able to concentrate on his job. What should we do now? Is it a permanent psychological disorder? Now he is not taking cannabis but taking small amount of alcohol(90 to 180 ml of rum ) few times 3 to 4 times in a month. Is it any form of pschezophernia ??
Cannabis induced psychosis is not permanent psychotic disorder. If he stays away from cannabis, he would remain symptom free. Now if he is feeling any problem, then that may be due to underline depression rather then schizophrenia or psychosis. Better to consult a psychiatrist and if you need my help, you can ask.
Thanks
