Is Laminectomy Right Treatment For Pain In Right Buttock Radiating To Foot?

I have pain in my right buttock down to my foot. Hurts to sit, stand and walk. AT times I limp so bad from the pain that people think it s my knee. My doc is recommending a Laminectomy. Will this take the pain away? I ve had it for 2 1/2 years. I ve done therapy, cortisone shots and RF.
