Is Less Vaginal Bleeding Post Intake Of An Emergency Contraceptive Pill Normal?

Hi, my girlfriend takes birth control pills. One night, we had sex and when she arrived at home she realized that she hadn t take the pill from the day before. Then, she took two pills. The day after shw took an emergency contraception pill, and continued taking the birth control pills. Fourteen days later (three days ago), she began to have a small bleeding, that is still happening (but very small, and today is the third day since it started). Is it expected?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think the protection was OK since she took two pills in next day.
There was no need to take an emergency pill.
This may have caused the irregular bleeding and spotting she actually has.
Taking pills correctly will regulate the cycle.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
