Levonorgestrel (LNG), a low-dose progestin or Mini-Pill, contains only progestin (a female hormone), is relatively safer in breastfeeding mothers for about 3- 6 months. However, a small amount of hormone from the pills consumed may passes into the breast milk. But there is no documented serious effects so far on infants.
