Is Light Flow During Period Sign Of Pregnancy?

I m 19 and me and my boyfriend have regular unprotected sex. My period usually lasts about 5-6 days. Last month it lasted 2 days and was extremely light. I usually have a heavy flow. Now, I am a few days late for my period. I am on a pill birth control. Should I take a pregnancy test?

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. You may be aware of the fact that regular unprotected sexual intercourse can cause conception. Since you are using oral contraceptives, your cycles are protected, provided you are regular with your medication. You need additional protection, if you are a recent pill user, having started the pill in the past 2-3 months only. The recent change in your menstrual pattern suggests hormone influence. This can be seen with pill usage during first 2-3 months. You can take a HPT 3-7 days after the missed period or go for the blood test to exclude/confirm pregnancy. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
