Is Lightheadedness Related With Cerebellar Ataxia?

My 23yr old son was diagnosed with cerebellar ataxia several years back. He has been feeling light headed a lot lately, I was inquiring whether this is from his disease or could it be from something else? He has not been sick so im certain it isn't an ear infection. He does have a tooth that has been bothering him; not certain if it's infected.
