Lorazepam is a sedative agent and is able to control the intense arousal symptoms of panic attack. However it should not be continued for long. It is a good option to control disabling symptoms on SOS basis.
Lorazepam is not the first line medication for panic. SSRI are the agent which are used for panic in addition to cognitive behaviors therapy.
Lorazepam has risk of Mekong you dependent on it if used for long
