Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
The hormone
human chorionic gonadotropin (known as beta-hCG) is produced during
pregnancy. Its levels can first be detected in blood by about 11 days after conception and about 12-14 days after conception in urine.
Typically, hCG levels will double every 48 to 72 hours. The level will reach its peak in the first 8-11 weeks of pregnancy and then will decline and level off for the remainder of the pregnancy.
The values suggested by you of 24 ng/mL should be alright for about 4 to 5 weeks of pregnancy. It should start doubling and reach between 90 and 100 ng/mL values by 8 weeks.
Around 5 weeks, the
gestational sac is often the first thing that most
transvaginal ultrasound (TVS) can detect. Also, within this time period, a
yolk sac can be seen inside the gestational sac.
Further, to know about the viability of pregnancy, appearance of heart beat by around 7 to 8 weeks of gestation has to be detected.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
