Is Low Fever With General Malaise A Cause For Concern?

My husband experienced a low fever yesterday 99.7, overall body aches, general malaise. He took a Rx Motrin and felt somewhat better. This morning he woke up with red spots and blotches all over his body. No itching. Is this more likely to be something he should seek medical treatment for? Or just something that s likely to resolve on its own?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

This looks like it's a viral fever. The best treatment would be just symptomatic on paracetamol and antacids. Plenty of oral fluids is very must to avoid dehydration. Avoid using any painkillers.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
