Is Low Level Of Monoclonal Protein Shown In Blood Test A Cause For Concern?

I have recently been told that my blood tests show low levels of monoclonal protein so my PCP has ordered more blood tests and a what sounds like a bone density scan, but that is not what he called it. I am 62 years old, 80-100 lbs overweight even after gastric bypass. I am not diabetic, but I have recently been experiencing some neuropathy, which is what led to the blood tests. Was unable to have children, and went into menopause at 37 (I believe due to taking triple doses of Clomid to try to get pregnant in the 70 s) Dont know how much of this is relevant, just want to know about the protein. He also said something about amaloydosis?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

This could be amyloidosis, which is a metabolic disorder caused by the accumulation on an abnormal protein on the skin, kidney, blood vessels and other organs. Another disorder to consider would be Multiple Myeloma. That is why the bone CT scan was recommended.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
