Is Low White Blood Count With Extreme Fatigue A Cause For Concern?

I have a low white blood count of 2.6. I was diagnosed with Lupus ten years ago and was taking plaque-nil. My doctor two months took me off of it and now my blood count came down for 3.6 to 2.6. The only thing wrong is that I am so tired. Thanks YYYY@YYYY

Hello,

You have low white cell count so you are getting tired. Normal white blood cell count ranges from 4.0-11.0 thousands/μL. Stay away from stressful lifestyle. Stress decreases the white blood cells that help fight off infection. The lower your lymphocyte level, the more at risk you are for viruses. Stopping treatments that cause leukopenia, like chemotherapy so that the body gets more time to make blood cells.

Vitamin C (citrus fruits) also increase the production of white blood cells, which are key to fighting infections. That's because it helps build up your immune system. Taking leafy greens and fatty fish is good, fresh soups, fresh well cooked meat, nuts / dry fruits, etc. Avoid raw milk, any yogurt or cheeses made with raw milk, and unpasteurized juice. Be sure to wash all fresh fruits and vegetables well. Switch from fresh fruits and vegetables to well cooked fruits and vegetables. Avoid taking raw salads. Always take boiled water. Consult your treating doctor and dietician.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
