General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your clinical history is concerned, please continue with medication as prescribed by your Doctor and it is used for the treatment of Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and follows few lifestyle modifications like this:

1) Try to keep your weight in check. Weight loss can reduce both insulin and androgen levels and may restore ovulation. Ask your doctor to recommend a weight-control program, and meet regularly with a dietitian for help in reaching weight-loss goals.

2) Take low-fat, high-carbohydrate diets and high-fiber carbohydrates include whole-grain breads and cereals, whole-wheat pasta, bulgur wheat, barley, brown rice, and beans. Try to limit less healthy, simple carbohydrates such as soda, excess fruit juice, cake, candy, ice cream, pies, cookies and doughnuts.

3) Try to be active and exercise helps lower blood sugar levels. If you have PCOS, increasing your daily activity and participating in a regular exercise program may treat or even prevent insulin resistance and help you keep your weight under control.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
