Hi,
Your symptoms are not suggestive of kidney failure. Flank pain after a recent UTI can be due to new or unresolved pyelonephritis (infection of kidney). Did you undergo an ultrasonogram during your last visit? If your flank pain persists, you should go to the emergency, to rule out a kidney infection or other conditions like stones, using urine microscopy and ultrasonogram. Meanwhile, take lot of fluids.
Please let me know of you need any further clarification.
Wish you a speedy recovery,
Dr. Raguram.
