Is Lymphocyte Count Of 22 A Cause For Concern?

I am a 34 year old female; In May 2016 my lymphocyte number was 41, Today, September 2016 the number is 22, I have been having some symptoms, which is the reason I ve had blood tests done. I ve had excessive very thick mucous, extreme constant tiredness, a feeling of weakness in my chest, headaches and daily nausea as well as joint pain and deep ear pain for over 6 months. I also had some vision issues and have a swelling at the base of my neck for 5 months. An ultra sound of the swollen neck did not show anything nor did a chest X-ray. My ANA was negative but SED rate is 29. Along with the change in lymphocyte numbers I have slightly elevated WBC, MCV and MPV. My platelet count was 340 in May and is now 407. I m mostly wondering if the change in lymphocyte number is concerning. Thank you

OB and GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Lymphocytes are a type of white blood cell which plays an important role in your immune system, helping your body fight off infection. High lymphocyte blood levels indicate your body is dealing with an infection or other inflammatory condition. I suggest you take a course of antibiotics for a week and see if it can help you in relieving the symptoms. Augmenting Duo along with multivitamins A-Z and Paracetamol for pain and headache.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Naira Jahangir, OB and GYN Specialist
