MY TSH LEVEL IS HIGH WHICH WAS REPEATED TWICE. THE T4 IS NORMAL THOUGH. TSH LEVEL IS CAUSING A RISE IN CHOLESTROL LEVEL NOW. I EAT HEALTHY DIET AND EXCERCISE. I HAVE NO HYPOTHYROID SYMPTOMS YET. DO I NEED TO TAKE MEDICATION TO LOWER THE TSH LEVEL. THERE IS FAMILY HISTORY OF HYPOTHYROIDISM IN THE FAMILY.PLS ADVICE. WT 67KG,HEIGHT 167CM. NO MEDICAL PROBS YET

When TSH value is between 4-10 mUi/ml and Ft4 is within the normal ranges, treatment is recommended only if you have symptoms of hypothyroidism or high cholesterol level. You didn't mention your age and gender, but if you are a female and plan to have a pregnancy, TSH level should be corrected before.
