Is Medication Only Solution To Reduce The TSH Level To Normal?

Hi, I just got my lab results back and my TSH level is 19.44. My Dr. has me on 75mcg of levothyroxin for a month and then will evaluate my next labs and go from there. My question is what are other options, other then medications and just how high is 19.44 and how harmful is a level that high. Thank you for your time. Jolene

Hi, I have gone through your query and understand your concern.

Raised TSH means you are hypothyroid. Levothyroxine is the only treatment option and after 6-8 weeks repeat your TSH and hopefully it will be lowered. It is not raised that much but start your medication as prescribed by your physician otherwise it will keep on rising. No need to worry.
