Is Metallic Taste In Mouth And Orange Furry Tongue Due To Metronidazole?

Hi,

I have just finished a 7 day course of Metranidazole which gave me a severe metallic taste in my mouth.

I am now left with a slightly different but still bad taste in my mouth and orange furry tongue.

Is this still the medication or do I needot go back to my GP?

Hi! great hing you on HCM.

Unplesant, metallic taste is a common side effect of metronidazole. The furry tongue you are referring to can be candidal growth.
Take multivitamins, be on a healthy diet and maintain proper oral hygiene.
Check if your immune system is weak.
If these symptoms persist, you must check with your physician.
hope this helps.
