Is Metastatic Cancer Curable?

I have been am a patient at Henry Ford and have been told the 3 tumors from liver has spread to other parts of my abdomen. I was told I have metastatic disease. I have had treaments. My tumor marker was at 14.1 and now it jumped to 450. I am now taking the Nexavar cemo pills. I was taking 400 mg twice a day, but now I am told I have to take 200 mg twice a day due to the side affects. Now I am waiting for another CT scan. Is there any cure for the metastatic cancer?

Hello,

Once cancer spreads, it can be hard to control. Although some types of metastatic cancer can be cured with current treatments, most cannot. Even so, there are treatments for all patients with metastatic cancer. The goal of these treatments is to stop or slow the growth of cancer or to relieve symptoms caused by it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
