I HAVE A 6 MM GALLSTONE AND SLUDGE IN MY GALLBLADDER. I AM A 62 YR. OLD FEMALE, WITH HEART DISEASE AND 2 STENTS , FOLLOWING 1 HEART ATTACK , 5 YRS. AGO.. DR. SAID MINIUAL HEART MUSCLE DAMAGE. , I HAVE LOST 60 LBS. IN THE PAST YEAR. SHOULD I BE CONCERNED ?
Hi Welcome to HCM. I understand your query and concern. Yes definitely heart damage in your can have significant impact on the overall health considering your age and medical comorbidity like gallstone disease especially with a past history of two in situ metallic stents.I strongly recommend that gallstones have to be removed if at all they are symptomatic.Therapeutic ERCP /endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography will be helpful in clearing the stones and biliary sludge.I advise you to have a follow up 2 dimensional echocardiography of the heart to know the cardiac reserve. You need to seek medical care only if there is significant diminution of cardiac reserve.Discuss the same with your cardiologist.Post your further queries if any. Thank you.
