Is Missed Period Post Endometrial Ablation Normal?

Hi There. Recently I went to my OB for my annual check up. I had an abnormal PAP result. Level 2. I went back for a colposcopy. I also was referred to a Urogynocoligist for posterior prolapsing and urinary stress incontinence. After the exam the U/G recommended that I have a complete virginal reconstruct with a bladder sling, but I had to wait on the results from the colposcopy. I have been having to splint for every bowel movement for about 1.5 years because of the bulging over into the vaginal area. My bowels are regular consistency not hard. My OB said that if that the result of the biopsy was a level 2 or greater then she would recommend a complete hysterectomy and that they could do the hysterectomy, reconstruct and sling all at the same time. The results from the colposcopy was a level 1 so the OB did a LEEP procedure. That was on November 9th 2016. Then the pathology results from the LEEP came back and it was in fact a level 2. I had a fever the 2nd & 3rd day after. I, of course, had light bleeding, cramps and the discharge expected for about 3 weeks. Then the discharge and bleeding stopped. For the most part the cramping subsided. The last couple of days I have been having cramps, like menstrual cramps, off and on. This morning they were worse and this evening it hurts really bad. Unbearable now. I also have developed a fever of 100. No bleeding or discharge. Also last November, I had to have an endometrial ablation and DNC to help with extremely heavy periods. I was bleeding through a tampon backed up by a pad every hour and would have to miss 1 to 2 days of work a month. Since that procedure I have not had a period. At what point should I go to the ER for the pain?

Hello,

It is quite normal. Nothing much to worry and your periods will return to normal rhythm soon. If the period is persistently delayed, you can consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
