Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. Siddartha's Response
Hello welcome to health care magic Thanks for your query
Sir,TSH means thyroid stimulating hormone produced by the pituitary gland.. TSH stimulates the thyroid gland to produce thyroid hormones.. If the hormones are sufficient then thyroid send a feed back signal to pituitary to stop the production of TSH..
So if the TSH levels are high, that means you have low levels of thyroid hormones.. Normal TSH value is 0.5-5 .But the normal values change from lab to lab.. You have 12.44 that means you have very high values.. So you have to take thyroxine tab daily to meet the daily needs.. Consult physician and have your medications.. hope you understand my suggestion Thank you Dr.siddartha
