Hello,

The report of your fecalysis shows, “many yeast cells” and “moderate pus cells''. This is not normal and suggests some irritation, infection, or imbalance in your intestinal flora, even though there are no parasites or blood. ''Many” yeast cells indicate overgrowth which means that the yeast population in your gut is higher than normal. It is indicative that you have weakened gut immunity or imbalanced microbiota (post illness, stress, or poor digestion).

You have not mentioned about any past illnesses here, or if you have taken antibiotics recently or in the past and for how long. Antibiotics can kill good bacteria. You have either high sugar intake or uncontrolled diabetes (because yeast thrives on glucose).

You are advised to check blood sugar level (F and PP). Reduce sugar and carbs intake. Do not take white flour, and alcohol. Avoid taking dairy products. Moderate amount of pus means there’s an ongoing irritation likely due to a mild bacterial infection, or fungal overgrowth.

No ova or parasites is a good sign, it means no worms or amoebas are detected. Get clinically examined by a gastroenterologist or GP. You should get stool culture (bacterial & fungal), fasting blood sugar or HbA1c. You will be advised to do liver function and CRP if symptoms are persistent. If fungal infection is detected you will be treated with antifungal medication after confirmation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
