Hello! I just got my lab results back, my dr is on vacation, but another dr called and is sending me to a hematologist. Here are my resultsWBC 13.0, MCH 99.4, MCH 33.2, Neutrophils 69.5, Lymphocytes 19.5, Absolute Neutrphils 9.10, Absolute Monocytes 1.20
Hi, I M Dr.Kumarbhargav Consultant Pathologist I understood your problem Looking to your profile You have mild increase in WBC count with Mild absolute neutrophilia. You have given by mistake 99.4 MCH first which must be your MCV (mean corpuscular volume) of RBCs which is indicating slight macrocytosis of RBCs. Absolute monocyte you have given 1.20 which is increased. Now it may be increased in infections like bacterial, malaria, viral in commonly and other conditions. If i would have been your treating clinician i would have done your peripheral smear examination first. Than with correlation to your history would be next. You may be having megaloblastic anemia due to vit B12 deficiency as you have macrocytic indices which will be confirmed on peripheral blood smear examination. So don't worry. Just let your peripheral blood smear examined first. Then proceed accordingly. Thanks for contacting health care magic. Take care. Ask freely if you want more help with follow up reports.
