Is My Pregnancy A Blighted Ovum?

age 25, ht 5'4", wt 120. LMP April 18

Had ultrasound yesterday showed I was 7 weeks 3 days (instead of what I thought 8 weeks, 1 day) and only showed a gestational sac and yolk sac. Is it possible that I am earlier than I thought and a fetal pole will show up soon? Or is it possible that the ultrasound tech missed fetal pole becuase it was small? Or is this pregnancy a blighted ovum ?

Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion blighted ovum is a condition where in there is empty gestational sac even without yolk sac.So it might not be a blighted ovum. But as it is 7 weeks the fetal pole should be visible but dont worry I suggest you to repeat the ultrasound after 2 weeks and see the status. There is no chance to miss fetal pole on ultrasound. That can be confirmed by repeating the ultrasound at some other centre.Take folic acid and hormonal supplements if suggested by your doctor.
