Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello dr.matthew, I have HBS AG= reactive(TITER=3.706 COV=0.083) this result found since 2005. but i did not know if its acute now. and how to cure too. thank you dr.matthew. Sincerely yours, rose
If you have a positive HBsAg test persisting since 2005, then you have chronic hepatitis B, not acute. This means the virus continues to be in your liver and is causing damage. There is a treatment for chronic hepatitis B. If it is not treated, it can eventually turn into cirrhosis and liver failure over several years. I recommend you consult with a liver specialist (gastroenterologist or hepatologist) and get this evaluated. If your tests confirm chronic hepatitis B, the specialist will know what treatment would be best for you. Hope this helps.
