Is My Semen Analysis Report Normal?

Hello dr I am Rupinder this is my semen analysis report Abstinence =3days 1)Physical appearance Ejectulation volume = 3.5 ml Sperm count = 82 million/ ml Appearance = opaque white Viscosity = thick Liquefaction time= 20 mins 2) Chemical examination Reaction = Alkaline Fructose = present 3)Microscopic examination sperm count = 82 million/ml Active = 80 /hpf Sluggish = 10 /hpf Dead = 10 /hpf 4)others Pus cells = 8-10 /hpf RBC = nil Please tell this is normal report if any abnormalities to worry Thanks

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of the semen analysis is as follows:
The physical characters- appearance, viscosity, liquefaction time are all within normal limits.
The semen volume of 3.5 million and sperm concentration of 82 million per ml is also within normal limits.
At Least 50% pf the sperms should have rapid progressive forward motion. In your report the percentage of the actively motile sperms is not mentioned. However majority show active motility.
No comment is made about the morphology of the cells.

Presence of pus cells suggests presence of infection.
You need to consult your doctor with the report for prescription of antibiotic.
The semen analysis should be repeated after treatment of infection.

Infection can lead to misleading results so interpretation can be done after treatment of the infection.
