Is My Stool Test Result For Yeast Culture High Or Low?
We recently sent our son's stool sample to a lab and the results came back at 9.07 for "Yeast Culture" There was no range or scale provided, how can we tell if this is high, low, or normal. He has autism and several GI issues, including yeast we think. Thank you
Hello and welcome to HCM, In health yeat is not detected in stool sample. Yeast can be present in stool sample as contaminant. However, a positive culture implies presence of yeast infection in the gastrointestinal tract. A culture report is reported as positive or negative. It is not reported on any scale. Thus, you need to consult your doctor with report for prescription of antifungal drug as treatment.
