Is My Ventricle Size Big?

Hi my heart s left ventricle diameter is 10.5 cm. My resting heart rate is 48 to 50 per min. I m 47 years old, 6 2 , 240 lbs workout at the gym weight lifting, I m muscular and always been active. Is my left ventricle s size too enlarged. I always known I had an enlarged heart, but always was told not to worry. So, I never paid attention to the size.

Hello! Thank you for your question on HCM! Regarding your concern I would say that your referred condition is mostly compatible with the so called athletic heart syndrome. As you are a weight lifting sportist and without clinical background of heart disease and failure, athletic heart syndrome looks the most probable diagnosis. Don't worry about increased ventricle diameter. It is a normal physiological adaption to hard physical training.
The only thing I recommend is to perform regular check up to your doctor to ascertain that any possible symptoms in any time is not caused by a different diagnosis.
Hope to have been helpful.
Greetings.
