Is Negative Result In Hpt During Pregnancy Possible?

My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant. I was five days late for my period, I have never been late before, and I have been having all the same symptoms i had when i was pregnant with our daughter and now I am having one day of heavier pink orange bleeding and on day two it is almost over. I have taken a pregnancy test but it came back negative. Is that normal if you are pregnant or could this be something more serious?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Urine pregnancy test kit detects beta hcg levels in urine to diagnose the pregnancy.
Sometimes in very early pregnancy, urine pregnancy test kit may not give accurate results.
So, better to repeat the test after one week or you can go for blood test for pregnancy now.
Compared with urine test, blood test can give more accurate result.

Some amount of spotting can be seen in early pregnancy during the process of implantation.
But we cannot take it as indication of pregnancy unless confirmed by test.
Start taking folic acid supplementation from now onwards.
