Is Norethisterone Safe During Pregnancy?
Hi, I was prescribed for norethisterone 5mg, 6 tablets per day and i took them for three days. The dr told me this will cause you bleeding and abortion. I am pregnant for three weeks. I need to know how long after taking the pill, bleeding starts? I am really nervous.

I understood your concern.
Norethisterone is an oral contraceptive. The dose given to you,may be used as an emergency contraceptive after unprotected sex.
* Norethisterone will cause withdrawal bleeding in non pregnant state within 8 days of stopping pills.But it is not known to cause abortion in established pregnancy.
* In case pregnancy is confirmed & you have already taken norethisterone, You should terminate pregnancy surgically.( Norethisterone is contraindicated in pregnancy) .
