I have MVP, just had an echo test done and it came back as mild/moderate and cardiologist said it was fine. Listened to my heart, said it didn t sound bad. Ordered a stress test on the treadmill as a baseline since I had never had one. I am am EXTREMELY anxious person and my PCP is watching my BP to detemine if I need medication. In an dr office, BP is 160/90 but at home, it is anywhere from 112/74 to 140/ 80, depending on how anxious I am that day. No heart issues, no pain, no shortness of breath. I run 2-3 miles at a time, or walk 3 miles 5-6 days a week. Don t run or walk many hills and so the treadmill test with the incline was a bit of a challenge but I did fine. After it was over, the tech said there was some questionable areas showing a possibility that blood flow was restricted in some areas but it was unclear so the dr looked and wants to do a nuclear stress test. I am freaking out! This all started as a simple echo test since I hadnt had one in years and then a baseline stress test. I feel things are getting out of hand and moving too fast. I don t like the idea of radioactive material injected in me and I don t like the idea of more test which could lead to more procedures and possible surgeries. I am a 61 year old woman, who exercises most days, eats healthy, trying to lose 10-15 pounds to be at a better weight and no other issues but the anxiety induced BP issues sometimes. Your thoughts on the nuclear tests please? Thank you.
