Is Numbness And Severe Pain In The Leg After Spinal Fusion And Decompression Surgery Normal?

I have recently had L4 S1 fusion and decompression (removal of large synovial cyst) I am 5 weeks post op and still have severe numbness and recently pain in my left leg and foot. Also had one episode of uncontrolled bowel movement. Is this related to the operation and should I bring this up with my neurosurgeon?
