Is Numbness At The Injury Site A Concern?

Two weeks ago I cut the left side of my right knee, two inches from my knee cap. It was 2 1/2 inches long and 3/4 inch deep. It was a very clean cut so taped it and kept my knee straight for two weeks. For three days my knee cap and an inch around it has been numb. Do you think this will go away?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history of numbness, my treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a lignocaine gel twice daily on it.
3. Take a vitamin b12 supplement once daily for 3 months.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
