Hello,
You are suffering from numbness in the knee and thigh. You have advanced
degenerative arthritis. Your X-ray reports show L1 thru S1 compressed to almost no discs. present. Numbness that you are experiencing is due to
nerve damage and development of
peripheral neuropathy. If diabetic, control your blood sugar level at all cost.
Take food good for the nerves like food rich in
vitamin B1, B2, B6, B12. You can also take supplements (NervUp OD), once daily for 10-15 days). Take antioxidants, Antioxidants are incredibly powerful because they work to cut back on any damage done to the myelin sheath. Anti-oxidants may also have the power to manage
neuropathic pain. Take more blueberries, beans, fish, walnuts and dark leafy vegetables.
Omega 3 fatty acids help to treat nerve damage. Take olive oil, walnuts, avocados, salmon, etc.
Vitamin C like cabbage, lemon, berry, garlic, cranberries, tomatoes, and blackberries, etc. You can take vitamin C and Zinc supplements.
Get clinically examined by a
Neurologist. Get Nerve conduction velocity tests done. You may require to get a few blood tests and imaging tests done so that treatment can be started at the earliest. Include ginger and turmeric in your regular diet to manage pain and avoid sedentary lifestyle.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
