Is Numbness In Left Toes Suggestive Of MS Flare Up?

I have MS (Relapsing/remitting) and was diagnosed in 2003. I haven t had a flare up since 2010 (hooray!), but I m getting numbness in my left toes which has been present for a few weeks. Do you think this is a flare up and that I should contact my neurologist? (He s got 2,000 patients at Univ of Chicago, so I only contact him in emergencies - i.e. flare up). I m also still nursing a 16-month old so taking medication isn t (even) possible. What do you think? Thanks, DawnMarie

Hello,

I suggest you consult your neurologist since the numbness of toes could be due to flare up. Timely management is required to arrest the progression of the disease.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
