Is Numbness Of Ankle Due To Cortisone Shots?

I had knee surgery for torn cartilidge. Four weeks later I had a cortisone shot in the same knee because of arthritis. Shortly after my last two toes went numb and now my ankle has numbness. Could this be caused by the cortizone shot and can anything be done?
