Hi, i am having itching all over my body for past 2 days, I had fish 2 days back. I have never got this symptom in past. I used Himalaya skin lotion to control the itching last night. My husband advises me to take Omnacortil for itching. Is he correct? - Thanks, Deepa.

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

I would keep a possibility of urticaria (food induced).

If I was the treating doctor I would have asked you to take an oral antihistamine e,g cetrizine 10mg is available OTC and can be taken, once daily.

In case of severe itching once can go to the emergency and get a shot of phenylephrine for faster relief.

A topical soothing lotion e.g calamine can be used for symptomatic relief from itching,

These measure are usually sufficient in most of the patients. I would have started oral steroids only if antihistamines, would have not proved effective.

regards
