Is Otek Drops Sufficient For Whitish Ear Discharge In Baby?
I have a five month old child. He had severe cold and fever 10 days back and was given claribid, imol, meftal p and nebulization. Today we observed some whitish discharge from one of his ears. Dr. has advised advent syp, t minic, ibugesic, nasivion and otek ac drops. My query is whether it is adequate to give otek drops only and avoid other medication. Thanks
As per your query your son has whitish ear discharge and also had severe cold and fever 10 days back . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like Ear Infection , Trauma and Swimmer’s Ear . But in your case the infection from upper respiratory track due to cold has spread to ear through eustachian tube . I would suggest you to give him all the medicine prescribed by your doctor , because infection require antibiotics ( advent syrup ) . So your doctor haas prescribed right medicine and give your son all the medicine as per prescription as otek ear drops will not be sufficient . Also apply dry warm compress on his ear and keep his ears dry .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
