No, otomycosis refers strictly to fungal infections of the ear canal (outer ear). Otitis extena is an inflamation or infection of the external ear (outer ear) and may be bacterial, viral or mixed. Otitis media is an inflamation or infection of the middle ear (behind the ear drum).
