hi! last Thursday I went to the urgent care, because I had fever. I had a flu A. Dr. prescribed Tamiflu 75mg. I have 2 capsules left, but I my eyes hurt and I itch. A year ago I had a similar reaction with Metranidazole medicine. Should I stop taking them and if I do Whats the risk of flu coming back?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
At times cold and flu can cause cause itchy eyes and pain. However, if you are allergic to it, then it can be due to allergic reaction also. So if there is a doubt, then you can consult an Emergency room or a Physician and get evaluated and an allergy test can be done to confirm if it is allergic reaction or not. For now you can continue the medicine as the reaction dose not seem severe and if there is too much itching, then you can take Levocetrizine. Also do steam inhalation and take painkiller like Ibuprofen. Do steam inhalation and drink warm fluids. Avoid spicy and chilled foods.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards.
