Hi..Mr.Gerald
I have read your question carefully and understand your concerns.
I see patients with similar complaints in day to day practice.Based on my experience I would come up with following possibilities :

1) First possibility is of strain(Muscle spasm) or Sprain (Ligament injury) if you have any history of fell down on ground or heavy weight lifting. Please check whether you can raise, rotate your right shoulder without pain freely or not?if you feel pain while rotating shoulder then it could be the sign of ligament or muscle injury.

2)Second possibility is FROZEN SHOULDER.There is persistent painful stiffness in shoulder joint which limits the movement. Please check your blood sugar level to rule out diabetes if you are not diagnosed before.

3) Third possibility is degenerative osteoarthritis.

I strongly suggest you to get x-ray Antero-posterior and lateral view of Shoulder joint, Blood sugar level-fasting as well postprandial and ESR to rule out degenerative osteoarthritis, frozen shoulder and infective pathology respectively.

I wish this has answered your question.Even if you have any query or want to ask you any questions post-investigations or in follow up,do ask me any time.

Wish you healthy life

Regards
