Is Pain In The Rib Cage While Breathing A Symptom Of Pleurisy?

I have sharp pain below my left breast (rib cage area) when I breathe in or cough. Also have general aches/pains, mostly in my shoulders and occasionally lower back. I don t think its related to anything physical, and it came on rather abruptly about 24 hours ago. My appetite has also diminished. This sounds like it might be pleurisy.

Hello
It can be due to dry pleurisy or due to some trauma you have sustained. Apply some heat over the site and do deep breathing exercises. It will subside gradually.
