Is Pain In The Throat When I Stretch My Neck A Concern?

Hello, For the past two days I ve been experiencing a strange pain on my neck in front of my throat. It hurts anytime I stretch my neck. I don t have difficulty swallowing at all. Its just pain when I stretch my neck. I haven t injured myself, this pain just sort of manifested on its own. I thought I was getting sick or coming down with a cold or flu but I don t even feel sick at all. Should I be concerned? Should I go see my PCP or an ENT doctor? Please help!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think that is a muscular pain. So to me, should see your PCP first. He/she will get a full exam, including ears, throat, vertebral spine, and measure your blood pressure. Depending on the results, he/she will judge if you need to go to ENT doctor or just give a prescription.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
