Is Pain While Removing Tampon Normal?

Hi, i suffer from terribly heavy periods> I had my first period at the age of 9. Ive tried every pill going and hormones dont suit me at all. I had the coil fitted years ago, and its been fine. Ive always had very heavy periods even without the coil. I have a period every 21 days and it can last from 7 - 10 days. As they are very heavy (i flood sometimes) i used the largest tampons, and change evry 2 hours or so. I am experiencing pain when removing the tampon, is this normal?
