Is Painful Area On Leg Post A Dog Bite A Cause For Concern?

I got bit by a dog, barely breaking the skin. Only surface blood. This happened 4 days ago. I have hard area approximately 1 inch around the bite. This was a dog I knew. It is slightly painful when touched or lying down. The bite location is on the frontal side of calf. Is this infection?

Welcome to healthcaremagic.com. Sorry about the dog bite. I would make sure that the wound is cleaned very well, this could proceed to an infection. The next thing is to note if the redness is getting worse, if it is, then I would treat my patient with Augmentin for the dog bite with a follow up appointment to see resolution.
I hope this answers your question. Good luck and feel free to direct any more questions to me.
