Is Painful, Bruised, And Swollen Wrist Post A Hit A Cause For Concern?

So we are traveling to Ohio for a wedding and my niece rode in our car. I was helping her get situated in her seat standing in my knees in the car floor, my dad suddenly seemed the breaks and I flew back and hit my wrist on the tiny garbage can in the car. It bruised and stung right away. It also appeared to be a bit raised. I am not sure if I should be worried or not because it hurts to the touch.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello! If you were my patient I would tell you to not worry and to apply locally betadine (disinfectant) and to be careful with your wrist till it will get better. If your wrist becomes more painful and swollen you should consult your doctor for an X-ray of the wrist and/or check if the hurted area is infected.
