Is Painful Tongue, Deep Purple Around Deflated And Swollen Papillae With History Of Pharyngitis Concerning?

The back left side of my tongue hurts a lot. Looking at it, one papillae bump looks deflated, and the skin around it is a deep purple. The rest of my papillae are extremely swollen, but with no pain. Ive been recovering from pharyngitis for a few weeks now. Should I be worried?

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
As you have pharyngitis the inflamed tissues of the mouth like papillae will take more time to resolve.
I advise you to consult an E.N.T. surgeon for diagnosis and treatment.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms erythromycin, phenylephrine ,citrizine, and paracetamol. I also advise to gargle with luke warm salt water.
Avoid taking fruits, juices, ice water, ice cream, and the things allergic to you.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
