Is Palpitation And Pain In Tail Bone Sign Of Hyperthyroidism?

I am 44 years old, weigh 50,8 kgs, 1,72 m in height. 4 years ago diagnosed with hyperthyriod. No nodules, thyriod not enlared. Been on New Mercazole on and off for three years. Last year my thyriod counts were normal and my doctor told me I could stop with the medication. It is a year now and I think it has returned. My stomach is upset for about a month now, palpitations sometimes after I have eaten. My sleeping habits is of the map and I have since yesterday have pain coming from my tailbone. My eyes also hurt. What do you think? Could it be my thyriod again? Sincerely, Melanie Joubert, South Africa

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hi,
it could be due to recurrence of hyperthyroidism. You should check your thyroid function tests. If it is showing hyperthyroidism I suggest you to opt for a permanent treatment for this. Two options include radio iodine treatment or surgery.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
