Is Paracetamol Overdose Dangerous?

Hi I m just seeking some advice, I ve had a really bad flu for the past couple of days and stupidly by mistake I have took in total in one intake 3300mg of 500mg paracetamol, this was lastnight around 8 o clock in the evening. Today I feel fine but have some stomach ache when breathing in and out, I have no yellowing of the skin or eyes. I am a little white but This may be due To the bad flu in experiencing. I have been a little confused and forgetful, can you give me some advice? Will I be OK to carry on just drinking plenty of fluid, also I was really sick lastnight and brought a lot of the paracetamol up?

Hello,

In therapeutic levels, paracetamol is usually safe and effective but like other drugs overdose of paracetamol may be fatal. In your case, although you have taken almost 3300 mg, it is far below the lethal dose so you should not worry. The best way to come out of it is to drink as much water as you can. You can also take an an antacid such as Mucain gel for hyper-acidity.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
